I wanted to practice a floral design with flicks in it because I really struggle with paining flicks in designs. They always come out so messy lol.
I started by painting all nails in 2 coats of a bright blue shade. On top of this I used white acrylic paint and a thin paint brush to paint in some flicks on each nail.
I then took a small dotting tool and a pink shimmery shade to place clusters of dots near where the flicks started from on some nails to make the petals of flowers.
I then repeated the same with a gold colour. Afterwards I used the opposite colour of the petals to fill in the centers of each flower.
To complete the design, I used a smaller dotting tool to place rows of shimmery blue dots on each nail to add more detail.
I had high hopes for this design, but as always I really fail when it comes to doing little flicks with thin nail art brushes. They always end up to thick no matter how hard I try.
I started off by painting all nails in 2 coats of a very light grayish lilac shade as my background.
On all nails except the thumb and ring finger nail, I used a very thin nail art brush and painted 2 flicks coming from the one corner in a dark purple colour. I then added 2 more flicks in a lilac shade next to them. I finished off those nails by placing a rhinestone over the corner where all the flicks originated from.
On the remaining nails I used the same brush and dark purple shade to paint 3 round petals at the base of each nail.
I then used the lilac shade to fill in some little lines in the base of each petal that I had made. I then finished these nails off by placing 3 rhinestones to make the centre of the flower. I think I would have liked the overall design better if I had gone for the flower design on all nails instead of just the thumb and ring fingers.
I had cut down one of my old nail art brushes to see if it would help me achieve a thinner line. This was just a quick design I came up with in order to test it out.
Firstly I painted all of my nails with 2 coats of my base colour. I went for a purple shade.
Then using a silver colour and a thin nail art brush, I added some curved lines to each nail.
Then I repeated this, but with a multicoloured glitter nail paint. I added the lines in between the silver lines.
I then finished everything off with a top coat.
