For this one I went for baby blue and baby pink pastel colours to put together my design. All colours used are from Barry M’s Silk Effects.
I started off by painting all nails except the ring and thumb finger nails in 2 coats of a pastel blue shade.
On the remaining nails, I taped off a small section near the base of the nail. On the thumbs I filled this in with pink, and on the ring fingers I filled it in with the blue before removing the tape. I left the next section of these nails blank so that my natural nail showed through.
I then taped off another area 3/4 down each of the nails and filled this in with a white nail polish. I then filled in the tips of each of these nails with the opposite colour to what I used at the base of the nail. So for the thumbs I used blue on the tips, and on the ring fingers I used pink.
To complete the design, I added a few strips of gold striping tape on each of the thumb and ring finger nails. On the thumbs I used it along the edges of the white section of the nail. On the ring fingers I used it on the edge of the blue and then through the middle of the pink.
For this week’s design I tested out the fan brush I got recently in a set of small brushes.
I started by painting all my nails in 2 coats of a peach colour.
Next I took a yellow acrylic paint and used the fan brush to make little strokes across all nails.
Next I used a orange paint and repeated the same.
I completed the design by repeating on top of this with a red paint. The way the different lines of colour overlapped and mixed together reminded me of flames.
For this design it took me ages to decide what colours I wanted to use lol.
I started by painting the ring and thumb finger nails in 2 coats of white.
On the little finger I painted 2 coats of a coral shade, on the middle finger I used a dark purple and on the index finger I used a green/teal shade.
On all nails that were not white, I added a single silver rhinestone to each nail. I then used a top coat on all nails and allowed everything to dry fully.
On the nails that I painted white, I used striping tape to mark out space for 3 stripes on each nail. I then used the colours from the other nails to paint a stripe of each colour before removing the striping tape. I then finished those nails off with another coat of top coat.
For this design, I started off by painting all nails in 2 coats of a neon pink shade to make my base.
Next I went over everything with 2 coats of Barry M’s ‘Starlet’ from their Glitterati collection.
I really love the brightness of the pink along with the sparkle of the glitter in this shade.
Next I took a metallic gold shade and a thin nail art brush. Starting at the tip of the nail and working towards around the middle of the nail, I painted thin lines along the width of the nail, making sure to leave a bit of a gap in between each line. I repeated this for each nail.
I then repeated the same to fill in the gaps between the lines I had just painted. However this time I made the lines a little shorter. It did not matter whether the lines looked ‘perfect’ as it is all part of the effect.
For this design I started by taking a shimmery white shade and painting 2 coats of this on my thumb, ring and little finger nails.
On the middle finger I painted 2 coats of a dark purple and on the index finger I painted 2 coats of a bright coral shade.
On all fingers except the ring and thumb finger nails, I placed a diamond shaped gold coloured stud near the base half of the nail in the centre.
On the thumb and ring finger nails I placed 4 vertical strips of striping tape on each nail. I took the purple shade and filled in 2 of the taped off sections on each thumb and one on each ring finger.
Then, using the coral shade, I filled in 2 taped off sections on the ring fingers and 1 on each thumb. I immediately removed the striping tape and then added my top coat after giving it a bit of time to dry.
For this design, I firstly started by painting all my nails in 2 coats of a metallic goldish/bronze shade.
Once this was fully dry, I used striping tape to tape off a section along the middle of each nail.
To this middle section, I painted a coat of magnetic nail paint a black/grey shade to one nail.
After waiting a few seconds I applied a second coat to this. I immediately held the magnet over this in order to create the magnetic pattern.
I then removed the striping tape straight away before it had chance to dry. I repeated this for the remaining nails.
For this design, I started off by painting all nails in 2 coats of a shimmery white shade from the Barry M Silk collection called ‘Pearl’.
Next I used a purple shade from the same silk collection called ‘Orchid’. I painted 2 coats of this to the bottom half of each nail only.
I then used the white shade again and a small dotting tool. I placed polka dots over the purple area on each nail.
Once this was dry, I used gold coloured striping tape across the line where the white and purple background colours met in order to make it look ‘cleaner’.
I finished off the design by placing a gold nail art stud on the middle of each nail on top of the striping tape.
For this design I started by painting my ring and thumb nails in 2 coats of a pastel yellow.
On the little finger, I used 2 coats of a pastel pink, 2 coats of a lilac shade on the index fingers and 2 coats of a mint shade on the middle finger nails.
On the little fingers I then used 2 coats of of ‘Starlett’ from Barry M’s Glitterati collection. On the middle fingers I used 2 coats of their ‘Catwalk Queen’ shade and 2 coats of ‘Socialite’ on the index fingers.
On the remaining fingers with pastel yellow as the base colour, I used striping tape to tape off the bottom corner on a diagonal. I filled in this bottom corner with a pastel pink shade.
Once this was dry, I taped off the opposite corner on each of the yellow nails on the diagonal 2 times. I painted in the top section with a mint colour and the bottom corner with lilac in order to create 2 stripes that overlapped the pink and yellow.
For these nails I started off by painting the ring and thumb finger nails in 2 coats of a white shade. This particular shade has a fine shimmer in it and is from the Barry M Silk Effects collection.
On the rest of the nails I painted 1 coat of a magnetic blue nail paint. I did not use the magnet at this time.
Next I placed a small blue water droplet shaped nail art gem onto the ring finger and thumb nails near the middle of the base of the nail.
Afterwards I added my top coat to all nails.
Lastly, I painted another coat of the magnetic paint onto the required nails and used a magnet with a stripe pattern to create an effect. I did this after adding my top coat as I find the top coat always drags the effect away very easily.
I quite like how the colours used in this design went together.
I started by painting the bottom half of all my nails in 2 coats of a glittery pink shade.
Next I painted the remaining half near the tip of all my nails in a pastel green/mint shade.
Once this had had plenty of time to dry, I taped off a section in the middle of each nail with striping tape, which overlapped the line where the 2 base colours met.
I then filled in this section with a dark green shade and removed the tape before it had chance to dry.
